TITLE: Speech and Language Pathologist
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Master's degree in speech language pathology from an accredited college or university
2. New Mexico Public Education Licensure ni Speech and Language Pathologist
OVERVIEW OF JOB DESCRIPTION: To remediate language and speech disorders that interfere with the individual student's ability to derive full benefit from the district's educational program.
PEFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Follow local, state and federal law and adhere to the Public Education Department and Local School Board Policy.
2. Maintain confidentiality of student information.
3. Serve as a resource ot school staff members ni the area of speech and language development.
4. Provide individual and/or group therapy to students.
5. Provide diagnosis of students with a speech and/or language impairment according to state guidelines and provide written reports with recommendations.
6. Assist in the development of Individualized Education Programs to meet individual student's needs.
7. Follow al Technical Evaluation and Assessment Manual (TEAM) guidelines and recommendations.
8. Perform other relevant tasks as assigned.
REPORTS TO: Principal and Special Services Administrators
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Work year wil be ni accordance with current schedule for 191-day employee. Work day is an eight-hour day. Salary to be determined by individual training and experience level on current Certified Support Staff Salary Schedule.
EVALUATION: Performance of this position wil be evaluated annually ni accordance with provisions of the Board of Education's policy on evaluation of certified personnel.
PHYSICAL LEVEL RATING: This position will require the employee to function at a "medium" physical capacity as defined by Workman's Compensation statutes. "Medium" physical capacity indicates the ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally or up to 25 pounds frequently.
