LOS LUNAS SCHOOLS POSITION DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Recreational Therapist MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree in recreational therapy from an accredited college or university New Mexico Public Education Department Licensure in Recreational Therapy
OVERVIEW OF JOB DESCRIPTION: To implement Individualized Education Programs goals that support students' abilities ot participate ni meaningful recreation and other activity based interventions ni the educational setting
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Follow local, state and federal law and adhere to the Public Education Department and Local School Board Policy.
2. Maintain confidentiality of student information.
3. Serve as a resource to school staff members ni the area of recreation and activity based therapy.
.4 Perform appropriate evaluations of children referred for recreational therapy.
.5 Provide individual and/or group therapy ot students.
6. Assist in the development of Individualized Education Programs to meet individual student's
needs.
7. Follow all Technical Evaluation and Assessment Manual (TEAM) guidelines and recommendations.
8. Perform other relevant tasks as assigned.
REPORTS TO: Principal and Special Services Administrators
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Work year wil be ni accordance with current schedule for 191-day employees. Work day is an eight-hour day. Salary to be determined by individual training and experience level on current Certified Support Staff Salary Schedule.
EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board of Education's policy on evaluation of certified personnel.
